WARNING: Project TipTap is UNDER CONSTRUCTION - which means we need your moves and your patience while we get this party started! We will be updating feature-functionality and fixing bugs on a weekly basis. For the time being, Facebook is required for logging into TipTap. WHAT IS PROJECT TIPTAP? TipTap is a for-profit community platform for social action. It s is an experiment to see if dance + music + human connection can be used as a catalyst for changing the way we see ourselves and each other. We designed TipTap to bring immediate attention and resources to the homeless epidemic. Since Portland, Oregon is home, we are starting here this November, 2016. Through partnerships with sponsors, TipTap turns :15 sec dance videos into cash donations to nonprofits getting people off the street, into safe housing and transition programs. WHO STARTED PROJECT TIPTAP AND WHY? TipTap was started by, Mark Sacks and Kali Sanders, a couple of dancing fools in Portland, Oregon who want to make social media more meaningful, have fun, and dance together (with you too) every day for the rest of their lives. MORE REASONS WE NEED TO START THIS PARTY... QUICKLY... THE TIME IS NOW BECAUSE: 1. Far too many people sleep on our streets every night. 2. If you're like us, it makes you feel bad, mad and sad and you want to do more. 3. Spare-changing is NOT a good solution for anyone. 4. Music and dance are good medicine. 5. More than anything, Kali and I want to dance with people** all over the world every day, just for a hot minute and know we did a world of good in that instant. WHAT'S THE STORY WITH THE DAILY VIRTUAL DANCE PARTY ON TIPTAP? We host a 1-minute-long Virtual Dance Party on TipTap, every day. For each :15 sec dance video posted during the VDP, our sponsors donate $1 to Central City Concern which helps get people off the street and into safe housing. DOES IT COST ANYTHING TO DONATE-A-DANCE? No. You post a :15 sec dance at noon, and one of our sponsors will donate a dollar on your behalf. HOW DO I DONATE-A-DANCE? 1. It takes less than a minute! 2. Open the app and tap the camera at 12 noon PST 3. Record a :15 sec dance video to the :15 sec clip of music you hear, and post it in the app 4. If you choose to, share it on Facebook a completely optional step, but very helpful! 5. TipTap and our sponsors donate $1 on your behalf to fighting and ending homelessness **Kali and I want to dance with Donna Brownstein & Grace Sanders everyday because they are our favorite people, and none of this would be possible without them.
